Rewinding is a specialised process and ACES place great emphasis on the advantages of having their own ‘in-house’ motor rewinding department.

All our in-house motor rewinding personnel are experts in this field and a computerised coil winding machine enables us to deal promptly with all types and sizes of stators offering total flexibility. This is invaluable when dealing with a compressor emergency.

We use only the highest grade materials to meet the specific demands of the refrigeration industry. All varnishes are Freon proof and the insulation used is to the highest standard Class H.

Once rewound stator windings are subject to rigorous testing; this incorporates being flash tested to 2000v to earth, tested on a full load transformer and finally for rotational direction. Ohms readings are recorded and retained historically.

Rewind Process

Prior to stripping out any winding, the coils are lifted and measured using a micrometer, and the amount of turns are counted.
The coils of the stator winding are stripped out and the stator & rotor are cleaned.
The details of the coil size and turns are entered into our specialist coil winding machine which winds the coils ready for installation.
The stator windings are then wound by hand incorporating Class ‘H’ insulation, and impregnated with Freon-proof varnish.
Each winding is then subjected to 2000V-to-earth flash test, ohms readings are taken with a multi-meter and recorded, directional rotation is checked and then the winding is subjected to a full load test on a transformer.
